Rural/Metro is a national leader and innovator in the ambulance services industry, providing services in approximately 400 communities throughout the United States.
Rural/Metro is a leading U.S. provider of emergency and non-emergency ambulance services. In communities such as Orlando, Florida, Rural/Metro is able to provide state-of-the-art equipment, highly trained paramedics and a computer-aided dispatching system in order to enhance emergency response times and the quality of patient care. In San Diego, Rural/Metro has partnered with the municipal fire department to increase the number of ambulances available, all while providing a cost savings to taxpayers.
Rural/Metro also provides a full spectrum of non-emergency ambulance services to serve the evolving needs of healthcare organizations and patients.
Through close relationships with community leaders, safety experts and healthcare specialists, Rural/Metro maximizes results by analyzing the needs of each community. To meet this challenge, Rural/Metro offers a range of services that include a practical approach to applying state-of-the-art resources, management information systems, health promotion activities, flexible staffing and innovative emergency response programs.
In an effort to create national quality standards for ambulance services, Rural/Metro took part in a committee to establish "standards of care" within the industry. As a result, the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) was formed, which establishes benchmarks for excellence and quality service and sanctions the companies that meet these requirements. Rural/Metro has more than a dozen operating companies that are accredited by CAAS, a sign of its continued commitment to the communities and patients we serve.
